SERVICE PROGRAMS

The Service Programs branch of Student Involvement offers students the ability to develop and explore their leadership skills while serving our campus, community, state and beyond through a variety of programs.

SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS TO JOIN

AUBURN UNIVERSITY DANCE MARATHON (AUDM)

Auburn University Dance Marathon engages the community in fundraising for our regional Children’s Miracle Network hospital. AUDM hosts campus-wide events throughout the year for students to participate in and fundraise. The year culminates each February with a 12-hour Main Event to celebrate the money and awareness raised for the hospital including games, guest speakers, live music, fundraising and dancing.

BEAT BAMA FOOD DRIVE (BBFD)

Beat Bama Food Drive educates, unites, and serves the Auburn University campus and greater surrounding communities by supporting the Food Bank of East Alabama to fight food insecurity through a friendly competition with the University of Alabama each fall. Since 1994, this food drive competition has raised over 10 million pounds of food, making an impact that reaches far beyond the campuses where it began

IMPACT

IMPACT (Individuals Moving People and Communities Together) is Auburn University’s largest year-round community service organization, with opportunities to participate in weekly local service, major days of service, and service abroad! All Auburn students are encouraged to come volunteer with us!

You might be wondering…

When can you join a service organization?

Opportunities to engage with Service Programs are year-round. From one-time service initiatives through IMPACT or The BIG Event, long-term philanthropic drives with AUDM or BBFD, or extended immersive experiences through ASB, students can participate in service in a variety of ways!

What counts as a service hour?

What counts as a service hour can vary depending on the activity, but broadly, students should count the number of hours they are present and actively serving.

How does Student Involvement define service?

Student Involvement defines service as non-compensatory, active engagement that benefits the community while enhancing students’ learning and preparing them for work, life, and active citizenship.
