You might be wondering…

Who can request funding?

Any permanent student organization on Active and Registered Status with the Organizations Board may request funds. Funding requests will not be retroactively dispensed for any expenses that occurred while not on permanent status.

How much funding can we request?

Organizations are able to request funding for operating, programming, and travel/registration expenses. Organizations may request monies three times throughout the academic year but may only request up to the following totals in each category: Programming ($7,500), Operating ($300), and Travel/Registration ($2,200). See the Organization’s Board (O-Board) Funding Information for more details.

How can my organization get a bank account?

Student organizations are allowed to use any bank of their choice to hold their organizational bank account. Organization leaders should consult with their organization’s advisor to establish and manage a bank account. Some organizations use the Auburn University Federal Credit Union.

How do I handle TAX ID numbers and Non-Profit status?

Student Involvement is not allowed to consult on taxes and non-profit status, but you may obtain an Employer Identification Number (EIN) by visiting the IRS Website. You will be notified of your EIN by mail. You must have this number before submitting funding requests to the Organizations Board (O-Board).

How do I register as a vendor in order to receive funds?

To begin the vendor registration process, go to aub.ie/supplier and register. To register, simply complete the registration process that begins with the New User Registration screen. Further questions about vendor registration can be directed to Payment & Business Services.

Can we accept dues?

Yes, student organizations are allowed to collect dues to cover organizational expenses, but it is encouraged to keep dues at a minimum to promote inclusivity. Collecting dues is not required, and student organizations are not required to pay any dues to the Student Involvement office.

Are there any other ways to fund my organization?

Some organizations occasionally reach out to their national affiliate organization if they have one, to various departments on Auburn’s campus that are pertinent to their activity, or to the Auburn University Concessions Board.
