NAME: Elise Sheldrick

HOMETOWN: Madison, AL

POSITION: Involvement Ambassador

FAVORITE INVOLVEMENT MEMORY:I became an Involvement Ambassador my freshman year at Auburn! I loved getting to know all the members within the organization and my advisor, Amanda Ballouk. This organization helped me learn critical professional skills such as responding to emails, completing consultations with students and becoming more proactive within Auburn's community. I also found great involvement outlets through the Involvement Ambassadors that I am currently involved in now. After serving on Involvement Ambassadors for three years, I have grown in my professional skills, made great friendships and branched out on Auburn's campus!

WHY TO GET INVOLVED: Involvement is a key component to network and build relationships. There are occupational, friendship, and personal opportunities that can be gained through the organizations on Auburn's campus.

STUDENT ORG

NAME:Auburn University Dance Marathon

NUMBER OF MEMBERS:80

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:

Dance Marathon is a nationwide movement, involving college and high school students at over 450 schools across the country who raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network hospital in their community. Entirely student run and donating 100% of the funds raised directly to local children’s hospitals, Dance Marathons have become a tradition on campus and in the community. Students spend a year learning invaluable leadership and social skills while raising funds in a variety of ways and interacting with children’s hospital patients and families.

Auburn University Dance Marathon is a year-long, campus-wide fundraising effort that culminates in a 12-hour dance marathon to celebrate the money and awareness raised for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The idea behind the marathon is “we dance for those who can’t.” The money Auburn University students raise stays locally to benefit the children’s Piedmont Columbus Regional.

Auburn University Dance Marathon first joined Children’s Miracle Network in 2011. In its five years of existence, AUDM has raised over $1 million total for the kids. AUDM is proud to represent every area of Auburn University’s Campus and community.
